Data Sources & Attribution
Transparency regarding our dataset origins, licensing, and update schedules.
1. Primary Source: Open Government Data (data.gov.in)
The postal datasets used by India PIN Code Finder are sourced from the National Data Sharing and Accessibility Policy (NDSAP) via the Open Government Data (OGD) Platform India (https://data.gov.in/), published by the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India.
2. Licensing & Compliance
In accordance with the Government Open Data License - India (GODL), the data is utilized for public benefit under the mandate that attribution is maintained, and users are notified that the dataset is an informational representation derived from official government releases.
3. Update Frequency & Synchronization
Postal datasets are updated periodically upon new releases and notifications published by the Department of Posts. We do not claim real-time second-by-second synchronization, as official postal gazette amendments typically occur at periodic administrative intervals.
4. Manual Verification & Official Directory
If you wish to independently verify any record against live India Post databases or download the complete raw dataset directly from the Government of India portal:
